Are you sure it's a fault and not the parking light, I'm not sure about your car but on the Fiesta when you pull the switch out it turns on the parking lights. Turn the ignition on to stage 2 and put the car in reverse and see if the bulb works and then put the light switch in park and the car out of reverse and see what it does then.

When it blocks, it causes backpressure when can damage the turbo, but there are many causes of turbo failure on the 1.6 TDCi.
